The replacement glass lid is constructed from toughened glass and has been designed to fit any of the current model Ecopots internal pots. You can use the lid as you normally would use a lid whilst starting the initial cooking process, the lid then transfers with the inner pots to fit snugly in the Ecopot outer pot, ensuring all of that heat and steam stays trapped in the Ecopot.
