Kerry of South Perth said, “this tasty apple butter is a real Ecopot style of desert”, and well worth the wait. Depending on the sweetness of the apples used, the amount of sugar may be adjusted to taste.
2 kilo apples
4 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
- In small inner pot, mix sugar, cinnamon, cloves, water, salt and apples.
- In larger inner pot, fill half way with water and bring to boil.
- Place small inner pot into large inner pot, simmer for 25 minutes.
- Stir occasionally.
- Transfer both pots to Ecopot, lid on.
- Cooking time 3 hours.
HINT … Spoon the mixture into sterile containers, cover and refrigerate.
